The inventor of the windowless display stand celebrates its 15th anniversary

Engineering — To mark its 15th anniversary, FiveCo is publishing a book about innovation, technology, and design in Switzerland. Founded in 2002 by four young graduates from EPFL, the independent SME quickly made a name for itself by working on the guide robot project for Expo.02. The engineers, specialised in complex mechanics, have since collaborated on more than 150 projects in sectors as varied as watchmaking, luxury, industry, medical, and automotive.

The SME is notably at the origin of the Raptor, a windowless watch display stand created for Hublot in collaboration with the firm Dietlin Artisans Métalliers. It also designed the Emperador, a cigar box with autonomous temperature and humidity management. FiveCo has further created Mémoire du Vin, a cellar management system, and the brand Art of Secret, a collection of furniture with secret drawers. "Projects that demonstrate that technological innovation and design go hand in hand," summarises CEO Antoine Lorotte
